SAN FRANCISCO, CA – On Wednesday, February 27, Sierra Club President Allison Chin will lead a panel discussion about the importance of bringing more diversity to outdoor recreation as an essential means to preserving our natural heritage for future generations.

“The Sierra Club’s motto, ‘explore, enjoy, and protect,’ appeals to communities of all backgrounds, and it’s our responsibility as environmental activists and conservationists to make our outdoor spaces and wild lands accessible and inviting to people from every culture and ethnicity,” said Allison Chin.

Panelists will address misconceptions about diversity in the outdoors, discuss obstacles and challenges, and speak to solutions to ensure increased diversity in the outdoors in the future.
