Participants Selected for the 2013 Natural Leaders Legacy Camp
Santa Fe., NM. July 25, 2013. The Children & Nature Network (C&NN) is pleased to announce the selection of the participants for the 2013 Natural Leaders Legacy Camp. Applications were received from millennial leaders around the world who have a passion for connecting children with nature. Through a rigorous and intense review process, an outstanding and qualified group of 52 have been chosen to participate. The Natural Leaders Legacy Camp is part of C&NN’s Natural Leaders Legacy Initiative. Natural Leaders are people between the ages of 15 and 29 who care about nature and helping other people, especially children, find a connection to nature. Participants in the Natural Leaders Legacy Camp must be between the ages of 18 and 30. The Legacy Camp is a leadership development and capacity-building experience. Participants in the five-day camp commit to leading four events in their own communities following the camp experience, from intergenerational service projects to house parties to develop community awareness about the importance of connecting children, youth, families and whole communities to nature in their everyday lives. The 2013 applicants were reviewed using their resume, two letters of reference, an artistic expression, and their responses to essay questions.
