Campaign
Get Outdoors Anchorage
"Get Outdoors Anchorage" is a collaborative effort of agengies, organizations, and individuals who seek to reconnect Alaskas with forests, parks and other public lands.
'Get Outdoors Anchorage' seeks to:
* Raise awareness among the general populace of the health and intellectual benefits of spending time outdoors.
* Convene a summit (slated for December 2008) for all stakeholders to exchange information and ideas. At the summit participants will commit to a timeline for accomplishing action steps.
* Develop and implement a framework for organizations to share ideas and resources resulting in reconnecting citizens with nature.
* Address policies which hinder child care agencies, families and other organizations from taking children to natural areas.
* Use existing programs to demonstrate how children and families experience our parks and natural resources.
