Idaho Fish and Game Announces New Outdoor Campaign

A book is the inspiration for a new program Idaho Fish and Game is currently organizing.
It will address children's current physical, mental, and emotional disconnect with the natural world.
The book by Richard Louv - "The Last Child in the Woods" - created the phrase "Nature Deficit Disorder." It addresses children's lack of physical activity outside.
In response to it, the Idaho Fish and Game is starting the "Be Outside" campaign. They are in the early stages of promoting this outdoor activity awareness program, with the goal of improving their physical and mental health.
Michael Keckler, IDFG Bureau of Communications Chief: "Because kids aren't spending as much time outside as they use to, it's beginning to affect their mental and physical health and we, being the Fish and Game and other agencies like Parks and Rec, thought we need to figure out a way to try to raise awareness about this issue, let parents know it's something they should be concerned about and try to provide some help to getting kids back outside."
Fish and Game plans to officially launch this campaign in January. When they do, there will be community events, backyard activities, and other fun ideas to do in the outdoors listed on their website.
