Youth Outreach at Core of Major National Parks Report

A team of historians, park aficionados and former politicians trotted out a report Thursday that aims to reverse what they say is a disturbing problem in America's National Parks: Nature deficit disorder. The report by the National Parks Second Century Commission proposes a host of things, including more science education and research at the parks, but the most pressing concern outlined in their document is a trend by young people to simply reject nature.
