  1. My son recently completed a cross country trip from New York to California camping in National Forest and public lands, all for free. I applaud the First Lady’s initiative but am concerned that ‘free access for schoolchildren’ addresses her goal. Children under 16 are always admitted for free.
From the Nation Park Pass site: Each Annual Pass admits pass owner/s and passengers in a non-commercial vehicle at per-vehicle fee areas; and pass owner + 3 adults, not to exceed 4 adults, where per-person fees are charged. (Children under 16 are always admitted free).
