Calling Young Leaders: Legacy Camp Returns to Colorado!
August 24-26, 2018

C&NN returns to Colorado for a second Regional Legacy Camp in partnership with Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO). Legacy Camp will take place Friday, August 24 through Sunday, August 26 at YMCA Estes Park. There is no cost to attend camp. Colorado leaders between the ages of 18 and 26 who are interested in connecting to nature, developing their leadership skills and taking action in their communities are invited to apply. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until spots are filled.

We launched our Colorado Regional Legacy Camp partnership with GOCO in 2016. This statewide effort recruits young adult leaders from Colorado’s Inspire Communities, GOCO’s five-year strategy aimed at inspiring Coloradans, particularity children, to appreciate, enjoy and protect Colorado’s great outdoors. Our goal is to support GOCO in developing capacity of young leaders across to state to help reconnect their communities to the benefits of nature and to protect Colorado’s incredible outdoor heritage for generations to come.

At Colorado Legacy Camp, participants develop leadership, community organizing and action planning skills—and discover the power of their own personal narratives. Legacy Camps are guided by the foundational principles of equity and inclusion in order to empower a diverse, representative corps of young community leaders.
