Schoolyard Habitat Program
Teachers and students create wildlife habitat using the Schoolyard Habitat Program.
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service’s the Schoolyard Habitat Program provides technical and organizational assistance for schools to create outdoor classrooms that serve as effective educational tools and sustainable habitat for many years to come. By building wildlife habitat, teachers and students learn about the outdoors across several disciplines: math, reading and writing, and science, among others. The Schoolyard Habitat Project Guide: A planning guide for creating schoolyard habitat and outdoor classroom projects is available on this website.
