Member Profile: Kentucky Environmental Education Council | Organizational Member
Members since 2017, The Kentucky Environmental Education Council (KEEC) is a small state agency within the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. They coordinate environmental education efforts across Kentucky including the Kentucky Green and Healthy Schools program, the Environmental Education Leadership Corps (through AmeriCorps) and the K-12 Kentucky Environmental Literacy Plan. Each of these programs promotes learning and skill development to build a sustainable and economically healthy environment.
Executive Director, Billy Bennett, says, “We believe that the research clearly indicates that there are major health and emotional benefits associated with connection to nature. We are proud to be members of the Children & Nature Network because we know that the impact of collective action far exceeds what we can accomplish on our own.”
